Last month, at Interop 2010 in New York, Rich Tehrani, CEO of TMC (News - Alert), had the opportunity to speak to Steve Urquhart, director at nMetrics about the company’s latest network management solutions.

Interop is a business technology event for the global business technology community held annually in locations all over the world. In 2011, Interop conferences will take place in Las Vegas, Tokyo and Mumbai, in addition to its latest event this past October in New York.

nMetrics is a software development company based in Sydney, Australia  that develops application and network performance management tools that are exported around the world to provide customers with network solutions.

According to nMetrics (News - Alert), its solution has all the functionality needed to provide comprehensive visibility of the network for troubleshooting and capacity planning, at a price that provides a strong return on investment for the customer’s business.

This was nMetrics’, second visit to Interop New York, as it was also present at the show last year to promote its network management solutions.

Urquhart explained that nMetrics has recently developed some “fantastic” session based reporting meaning it can monitor and lower network traffic all the way to layer 7 of the session layer allowing users to view YouTube and Facebook (News - Alert) and to break out  from the “tunnelized” applications.

“We can look at every bit of traffic that is going across the network making it easier for network proprietors,” Urquhart said. “Our product is used to identity network problems and then proprietors can obtain the right information and use it to make improvement s on their network, whether that means prioritization, acceleration or compression. “

nMetrics is currently based in Sydney, however, it is starting to branch out all over Asia with offices in Singapore and Beijing. “Our focus is to be primarily in Asia, because that’s where we do really well,” Urquhart said.
