Ring Carrier, TelcoBridges Deliver Scalable Open Source IP-PBX Solution
Ring Carrier has selected TelcoBridges' TMG3200 Media Gateway (News - Alert) to deliver scalable open source telephony solutions to its customers.
Ring Carrier provides hosted IP-PBX
solutions, an advanced softswitch, and the Ring Provider GUI, which enables the creation of an Asterisk (News - Alert) PBX in less than 2 minutes. The company sells these solutions to ITSPs, LECs and CLECs who use VoIP
to deliver IP-PBX (News - Alert) services to enterprise customers. Ring Carrier’s customers have extensive demands, and they require highly available and scalable solutions to address their requirements.
While architecting its next-generation solution, Ring Carrier aimed to scale Asterisk to any size and facilitate the implementation by eliminating the low-level details associated with the installation. Ring Carrier decided to adopt TelcoBridges (News - Alert) TMG3200 Media Gateway, to handle simultaneous media streams, and to provide the horsepower needed to address the transcoding and call routing
functions for thousands of simultaneous calls.
As TelcoBridges' TMG3200 Media Gateway integrates seamlessly within the Asterisk framework it can perform the media transcoding, signaling, call routing functions and connect the IP-PBX to the TDM and VoIP networks. The unique Gateway supports any-to-any call bridging on SIP
, SS7 and ISDN networks. Ring Carrier solves the scalability and manageability issues related to the use of the Asterisk platform for large scale deployments by offloading the media processing to the TelcoBridges hardware.
Ring Carrier's president Paul Mahler said in a statement that Ring Carrier has created a unique VoIP Fabric that facilitates the creation of an unlimited number of PBX building blocks. He indicated that by using TelcoBridges' TMG3200 Media Gateway, they have solved the issues associated with media processing. Thus they can effectively deliver thousands of hosted PBX solutions that can reach millions of end points.
According to Gaetan Campeau (News - Alert), president of TelcoBridges, Open source telephony users like Ring Carrier are approaching TelcoBridges in increasing numbers, because their TMG3200 Media Gateway product is a perfect solution to scale their infrastructure.
Together, TelcoBridges and Ring Carrier are delivering an end-to-end solution that supports limitless copies of Asterisk, full system administration, billing and routing, and hardware transcoding in a manner that's robust, scalable and cost-effective.
Last week TelcoBridges was chosen by telecommunications solution provider, Kingdom Telecom, Beijing, which will be using their telecom platform for Henan Mobile. The move will support the largest Personalized RingBack Tone (PRBT) system, which in turn supports more than 4,000 E1s in China.
