DSCI Named as Polycom Gold Partner

By Anil Sharma, TMCnet Contributor

DSCI, an Internet telephony service provider in New England, has been named a Gold Partner in Polycom’s Choice Partner Program for ITSPs.

Polycom (News - Alert), which is a major player in unified communications solutions, defines Gold Partners as committed to Polycom products and invested in core competency development.

The benefits to the Gold Partner include access to sales and marketing programs, Polycom incentives and discounts, and a comprehensive group of resources including technical support and special events/forums.

Officials with DSCI said that the company has standardized on Polycom SoundPoint IP phones for its I-PBX (News - Alert) hosted communications service.

“Back when DSCI was founded, we made the commitment to deploy only the best, most reliable equipment as part of our solution. Polycom certainly meets that standard. Being named a Gold Partner shows the strength of the relationship we have built with Polycom over the years,” said Sean M. Dandley, CEO and president with DSCI, in a statement.

Tim Yankey, senior director of desktop and conferencing solutions with Polycom said that the Choice Partner Program was developed to acknowledge the special relationship Polycom has with companies such as DSCI.

“We’re very pleased to be able to award DSCI the prestigious Gold status in our Choice Partner Program for ITSPs,” said Yankey.

Earlier in September DSCI Corporation (News - Alert), Inc., added I-PBX SIP trunking to its I-PBX hosted communications service offerings. I-PBX SIP trunking sends voice traffic from a premise-based phone system over the same connection used for data, eliminating the need for separate voice access. I-PBX voice-over-IP calling features are overlaid on the existing system to provide bundled usage, extension dialing between sites, and support for remote users.

The service is completely flexible. Adding capacity or transitioning to a fully-hosted service is easy at any time. It also allows an enterprise to mix hosted I-PBX with I-PBX SIP trunking, as illustrated in the diagram below.
