In just a few weeks, Server Technology (News - Alert) – a data center power distribution company – is hitting the road once again and heading toward Washington D.C. for an event called “DCA Roadshow,” sponsored by the Data Center Alliance, of which Server Technology is a member.
The Data Center Alliance, which was formed to provide a centralized, comprehensive source for building successful IT infrastructures, aims to serve as the central repository of data center/server room products and services and to provide IT decision makers with a clear understanding of the different solutions available for their IT infrastructures.
The event, taking place Oct. 25, features a session titled "Creative Concepts for Increasing Data Center Efficiency," presented by DCA members Eaton/Wright Line, Fieldview Solutions, Minicom (News - Alert), PDI and Server Technology. Other featured sessions include a keynote address by RJ Meyers of Energy Star called “Promoting Energy Efficiency in Data Centers with Energy Star,” and a keynote speech led by Herb Villa called, “Review of the new ASHRAE Thermal Guidelines and What They Mean to You." The event will conclude with a panel discussion moderated by David Zucker of Minicom.
“The Data Center Alliance is made up of companies that bring ‘best of breed’ products and solutions to the data center marketplace – from racks, to cooling, to power distribution to console servers, virtualization, power monitoring, measuring and control and security. The DCA holds events throughout the year to bring together data center professionals to discuss new technologies and information that affect the data center, all couched under the benefits of energy efficiency – giving attendees information that they can use in their data center to address and reduce energy consumption,” Julie Brown, marketing manager for Server Technology, told TMCnet when asked about the goal of the roadshow.
Everyone from data center officials to IT professionals should attend this event particularly since the keynote speakers will shed some light on new information that affects the data center, IT infrastructure and data center power.
Server Technology is eager to join key members of the DCA –Eaton (News - Alert)/Wright Line, Minicom, Fieldview and PDI – in presenting its session which will highlight each company’s solutions that promote energy efficiency and sustainability.
The keynote speakers will present the new American Society of Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) thermal guidelines and what they mean to the data center manager.
So what does it mean to Server Technology to be a part of this alliance?
“Server Technology is committed to the goals of the Data Center Alliance – improving energy efficiency, uptime and promoting sustainability,” Brown said. “We also believe that this group represents the best data center products and solutions out there today.”
