Nimbula Joins Forces wth Red Hat

Nimbula, the cloud operating system company recently announced at the Red Hat (News - Alert) Summit that the Nimbula Director will now support Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6 and Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization 2.2. This new partnership will now provide a strong foundation for cloud deployments. Nimbula also has plans to work with the Deltacloud community to provide support for Nimbula Director in the Deltacloud project.

In a release, Sarangan Rangachari, senior director, Cloud Ecosystem at Red Hat said that "Nimbula has brought an innovative cloud computing platform vision to the market. Nimbula is a great partner for Red Hat's open source cloud computing initiatives and our growing cloud ecosystem. This combination of technologies can benefit our customers' cloud capabilities and experience."

This new partnership will enable both enterprises and service providers to take make the most of recent advancements in virtualization, performance and security from one of the world's leading and most trusted IT platforms and also extend the same into the cloud using their existing applications or management tools.

"We have been working with open source technologies provided by Red Hat from the very beginning here at Nimbula. Specifically, we have supported KVM as a hypervisor, and our customers have given consistent feedback that ours is the strongest solution for KVM-based clouds currently available. With today's announcement, Nimbula is taking that commitment further to deliver an integrated enterprise-class cloud operating system using Red Hat Enterprise Linux," said Chris Pinkham, Co-Founder and CEO of Nimbula. "We expect this to help our customers and reduce complexity for them as they will be able to leverage their existing experience and investment in Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6."
