Educational Institutions Opt for Wyse Cloud Client Computing

Wyse Technology has announced that a group of educational institutions have implemented the company’s cloud client computing to achieve better computing performance.

Wyse cloud client computing includes the hardware, software and services to ensure the cloud computing or desktop virtualization environment delivers the maximum results in security, performance, reliability, flexibility, scalability, experience and Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) savings (both in OPEX (News - Alert) and CAPEX) with the lowest possible energy usage, according to the company.

The company said it provides its customers and partners with the broadest and deepest portfolio of Cloud Clients, including Thin, Zero and Cloud PC clients, supported by cloud, virtualization and management software suites in the industry. To help organizations and people reach the clouds – in a private, public, government, or, even in a personal cloud, Wyse independently partners with all of the data centers and networking and collaboration solution providers within its global partner ecosystem.

“We are proud to have so many education customers in the greater vicinity of this conference," said to David Angwin, director of marketing EMEA at Wyse Technology, "and the adoption of Wyse solutions in this industry over the past few years has truly been a global phenomenon. Schools and universities from Africa to Asia, Eastern and Western Europe, North and South America are all seeing the benefits of better computing performance.”

The schools that have already implemented Wyse’s solution include The Priory Federation of Academies, Hampton School, St. Anne School, New College Durham, and Alvarado Elementary. Many of these educational institutions have been using Windows MultiPoint Server 2010 in conjunction with the E01 zero clients from Wyse, the company announced.

Recently, the company advanced capabilities in PocketCloud Version 1.1. This version will advance Microsoft NLA security, and optimization for tablets such as the new Samsung (News - Alert) Galaxy Tab and Cisco Cius.

Additionally, Wyse announced that over 250,000 users have downloaded PocketCloud virtual desktop apps for Google Android and Apple’s (News - Alert) iOS devices. Wyse  said its cloud software makes the mobile Internet a more powerful tool for managing work and play digital life.
