A10 Networks Launches ACOS 2.6.4 to Enable Migration to IPv6

A10 Networks (News - Alert), a provider of Application Networking and IPv6 Migration solutions, announced the launch of Advanced Core Operating System (ACOS) version 2.6.4 for its AX Series platforms. Carriers and service providers will benefit from new features and enhancements for IPv6 migration and IPv4 preservation solutions.

The AX Series platforms from A10 Networks include a 64-bit shared-memory and multi-process, multi-core, multi-CPU architecture that delivers scalability, efficiency and flexibility for IPv4/IPv6 solutions.

“A10 is committed to providing the most scalable and comprehensive IPv6 migration technologies that are viable for our customers,” said Lee Chen (News - Alert), founder and CEO for A10 Networks, in a statement. “By adding NAT64/DNS64 natively into ACOS and into our existing suite of IPv6 migration solutions, we can further help promote the adoption of IPv6, helping IPv6 hosts to communicate with IPv4 servers.”

AX Series solution assists carriers and service providers in solving network problem. Customers may deploy more than one method, leveraging the same AX appliance to address multiple issues.

“DNS64 and NAT64 are key technologies to allow the successful deployment of IPv6,” said Cricket Liu, general manager of Infoblox's (News - Alert) IPv6 Center of Excellence. “We have certified the AX Series NAT64 implementation with our solutions and have been using it for internal training for many months, showcasing our advanced DNS64 functionality in proven deployable solutions.”

Recently, A10 Networks announced that the IPv4 address allocation is exhausted according to industry accepted indicators. As the final allocations under the existing framework have been allocated it triggers the processes for Internet Assigned Numbers Authority (IANA) to assign the final five IPv4 /8 blocks, one to each of the five regional registries.
