Grecom Selects Nexaira Wireless Router for Business Continuity

Nexaira Wireless, a provider of wireless devices and other cellular solutions, has announced that it has been selected to provide business continuity to keep a global company connected to the Internet.

Gemcom Software International Inc. is the largest global supplier of specialized mining productivity solutions, with clients in over 90 countries and 13 regional offices across the globe. Nexaira's Business Class II (BCII) router has been chosen by Gemcom to provide redundancy, reliability and connectivity through advanced routing protocols.

"This is the perfect example of how 3G/4G networks are relieving the pain of downtime from traditional wireline networks for businesses internationally," Bob Young, EVP of Business Development for Nexaira said. "The BCII provides the performance, speed and cost-effective solution for Gemcom's worldwide foot print."

Gemcom is looking to have a 100 percent redundant failover technology for each of its offices so that all parts of its business can be connected with Gemcom's customers, distributors, and regional offices 24 hours a day, 365 days of the year.

"Nexara's BCII router is exactly what we were looking for to connect and provide back up for all of our international offices," said Brian Ferguson, Gemcom's IT Manager. "As a global software and services company, it is vital that all of the offices stay connected to customers and headquarters. Being able to feel confident that the BCII router will provide this capability is very important to our business."

Gemcom has a global reach, delivering comprehensive mining solutions in all major mining centers. It is a continual challenge to ensure that Gemcom's Internet connectivity is available in all offices at all times. In order to solve this issue Gemcom has selected Nexaira's BCII routers to back up Gemcom's network by providing failover onto a local 3G/4G carrier network in each of Gemcom's offices.

Nexaira's cellular solutions are simple to install, yet provide the advanced management and business class features demanded by the most sophisticated users. Nexaira's wireless devices are ideal for high availability applications acting as the primary router for wireless, DSL, landline or cable networks or can be used to provide complete device and network redundancy in wide area network-failover/fail back applications.

Nexaira is uniquely positioned to bridge the gap between wireline and wireless services and provide businesses the assurance that operations continue during wireline network service interruptions.

The company recently provided a high availability networking solution for Quilts Etc. on Rogers Communications (News - Alert) Inc.'s HSPA+ network. The Business Class II router and Rogers, a Canadian network, provide a fail-safe highly secure wireless networking service that 'stands in' in the event of wireline service disruption. After testing different configurations Quilts decided to look at backing up the existing wireline service with a Nexaira router and Rogers Rocket Mobile Internet Stick.
