Austin Ventures Includes Adam Dell to its Team

Adam Dell (News - Alert), a successful entrepreneur and academician has joined Austin Ventures, a venture capital and growth equity firm, as the venture partner. He holds more than 12 years of experience in the venture capital industry.

In the information technology and business services areas, Dell will focus purely on early-stage venture investments.

'I have known the team at Austin Ventures for years. They have a stellar track record and a commitment to excellence. It's a pleasure to join such a well-respected firm,' Adam Dell, said.

Prior to joining Austin Venture, Adam worked as Founder and Managing General Partner of Impact Venture Partners, a venture capital firm focused on information technology investments. Earlier, he was also a partner with Crosspoint Venture Partners in Northern California, and a senior associate with Enterprise Partners in Southern California.

Dell also worked as a corporate attorney in Austin, Texas, with the law firm of Winstead, Sechrest & Minick. The prior investments of Mr. Dell include OpenTable, Buzzsaw and Hotjobs.

A course at the Columbia Business School on business, technology, and innovation is also taught by Mr. Dell. He also is a visiting professor at the University Of Texas School Of Law where he teaches a class on the role of law in innovation.

Dell is also on the Board of Trustees of the Santa Fe Institute.

Academically he is a Graduate in political economy and also holds a law degree from the University Of Texas School Of Law.

In related news, Austin Ventures has sold 724 Solutions, Inc., a mobile internet company, to Mobixell (News - Alert) Networks, Inc., a provider of mobile multimedia and advertising solutions.
