iEnterprises Brings IBM Lotus Notes and Domino Application to the iPhone

iEnterprises, a global desktop and wireless CRM company and IBM (News - Alert) partner, has announced the availability of IBM Lotus Notes and Domino collaboration software applications on the Apple (News - Alert) iPhone.
 
The announcement regarding the iPhone wireless application, called Mobile Edge, was made at an industry conferences where iEnterprises (News - Alert) is showcasing the application.
 
Mobile Edge is expected to be an ideal solution for business users who use both the iPhone and Lotus Notes. It will offer them a fast and smart working platform wherever they are. iPhone (News - Alert) users will be able to access and update their Lotus Notes business applications like CRM software, helpdesk and salesforce automation from their iPhones itself.
 
The new application is compatible with Lotus Domino 6.0 or higher including Domino 8.5.1 leveraging the advantages of Web services and open standards by lotus Domino. Users can connect their Lotus Notes applications to their iPhone and derive maximum benefits from their Domino server and also benefit from the friendly environment of Lotus Notes.
 
Also the need to learn new programs, additional coding and in-house development are eliminated.
 
“As consumers, we download music and games on the iPhone, why not business applications that will help you collaborate, win deals and keep your customers happy?” said John Carini, CEO, iEnterprises. “You’re able to open the doors to your Lotus Notes applications, and take your information with you wherever you go. Now, you can keep aspects of your life at work and at leisure right on your iPhone. It means no more worrying about important calls or meetings, or scrambling for last-minute information left at the office.”
 
Mobile Edge (News - Alert) for Lotus Notes is built on Mobile Edge platform which helps Lotus Notes developers to configure and deploy Lotus Notes applications to smartphones with no need for developing new phone-optimized applications, said company sources.
 
The application enables fast downloads as Mobile Edge for the iPhone is a rich-client and browser-based application which allows information to be accessed online and offline. The features include access to IBM Lotus Notes customer contact information, opportunities, calendars, e-mail integration and customer support tickets from the iPhone itself.
 
Mobile Edge for the iPhone is based on open standards which can help access, retrieve and store information from Lotus Notes applications and other applications created using Web services. An intuitive interface helps in leveraging iPhone’s capabilities like touch-screen dialing, mapping and e-mail.
