The new product facilitates seamless integration between IGC’s electronic redaction tool and IBM’s scanning product. It also offers a truly integrated redaction capability for the IBM FileNet Capture solution.
Redact-It by IGC – which specializes in viewing, collaboration and redaction technology -- helps in removing privacy information and sensitive content during data capture. It can be seamlessly integrated to IBM FileNet Capture by using complex expressions to automatically redact all instances of a phrase, name, social security number, phone number, account number, monetary amount and other information. Redact-It then automatically releases both redacted and un-redacted versions of the file to a specified enterprise location.
With Redact-It, users can redact virtually any format including office documents, PDF and TIFF. Automated zone redaction as part of the batch process is included. Users can search for and redact by word/phrase, phrase list, text pattern or zone and also work with images or OCR text, said IGC sources.
“This release provides a very useful combination of capture and redaction, allowing sensitive content to be removed right at the point where it enters the system,” said Joe Junker, director of business development for IGC. “It is a great way for FileNet Capture customers to achieve regulatory compliance and make sure that this information is protected right from the start. Businesses and government entities focused on meeting e-discovery, privacy protection, Sunshine Act legislation, and other compliance and privacy requirements will appreciate Redact-It’s solid return on investment.”
Redact-It enables automated redaction of confidential data to major IBM FileNet repositories, such as P8 Content Engine, Image Services and Capture local repository. Redact-It is capable of releasing both redacted and un-redacted versions of the file besides saving any additional workflow steps.
IGC said that information confidentiality is maintained by Redact-It which safeguards information from risk of accidental exposure. This helps in streamlining the redaction process conveniently.
