NIKSUN's Puma Portable Appliance now gets 10G Monitoring Capability

Network professionals in the field of monitoring and forensics are always on the lookout for products that yield faster and accurate results. Now, NIKSUN, a company that provides real-time enterprise network surveillance solutions, has reportedly announced that its portable network monitoring solution, Puma, can monitor networks at 10 GigE speeds.

The modern day network infrastructure consists of web of remote sites, satellite offices, data centers, server farms, applications and services. More often than not, the systems integrators, service providers, forensic analysts and other professionals need to monitor and troubleshoot issues on-site. According to NIKSUN (News - Alert), the current network monitoring market offers very limited portable monitoring solutions for this demand.

NIKSUN Puma lets companies use NIKSUN's state of the art network performance, security and compliance monitoring technology. Puma easily fits into airplane cabin overhead compartments and is considered to be travel friendly. It also facilitates on-site analysis with localized recording and analysis as it deploys in a few short steps.

“Customers have been asking for the power of NetVCR and NetDetector in a portable form factor," said Karl Schaub, director of product management at NIKSUN, Inc., in a statement. “We had already responded to their requests earlier this year with the introduction of two Puma models.”

Puma provides terabytes of storage to manage and monitor the available data. It also enables data gathering over days or weeks to help with security forensics, lawful intercept, policy compliance monitoring, capacity planning, bandwidth management, latency monitoring and benchmarking.

NIKSUN debuted PUMA in June. The ready-to-deploy and lightweight transportable unit offers customers a complete range of network security and performance monitoring tools that track, capture and analyze the root-cause of any network performance issue or security incident on the go. With NIKSUN Puma, organizations can leverage NIKSUN's state-of-the-art network performance, security and compliance monitoring technology as a robust luggable appliance.
