Comcast Corporation, a provider of entertainment, information and communication products and services, reportedly
announced the completion of its comprehensive security program, which is designed to protect computers against online threats such as bots, viruses and others.
The program called “Constant Guard” has been successfully completed after years of efforts by a dedicated team of security professionals. The solution will implement security software and also create a Security Web portal of consumer resources for protecting customers from even the latest online security threats.
“As the nation’s largest residential Internet Service Provider, our goal is to provide a safe and secure Internet experience for our customers,” said Mitch Bowling, senior vice president and general manager of online services at Comcast (

To study the efficacy of the new program, Comcast plans to implement an in-browser notification in Denver, Colorado. Customers whose computers are infected with a virus will receive an alert which will request them to go to the Anti-Virus Center and follow a set of instructions to remove the bot and also prevent it from infecting other computers.
Comcast sources said that this feature and other components of the Constant Guard Security program will be provided at no extra cost to Comcast High-Speed Internet customers.
The three core components of the Constant Guard Security Program includes a dedicated Customer Security Assurance or CSA team of professionals who proactively contact customers helping them to resolve issues like bots, malware and infected PCs and other security issues.
The program provides technology and software including McAfee (
