PeerApp Intros New Application Certification and Software Licensing Program

PeerApp, a provider of video cache and content delivery solutions, has reportedly announced an application certification and software licensing program called UltraBand Certified Partner Program.

The certification program has been introduced to expand company’s offering and to meet the business needs of Internet service providers worldwide, according to company officials. Partners in the UltraBand Certified Partner Program will develop and market integrated solutions for ISPs.

According to industry reports, Internet video and content delivery continues to dominate applications for high-speed data networks. Officials said that operators need to optimize their networks to satisfy and monetize these applications.

PeerApp's partner program addresses wireline and wireless operators who are upgrading their networks. The program helps deliver the “highest levels” of subscriber Quality of Experience in the face of increasing demand for video, said officials.

“PeerApp's UltraBand products are deployed in more than 60 service provider networks, with presence in over 20 countries and servicing more than 8 million broadband and wireless subscribers,” said Rich Blatt, vice president of strategic alliances at PeerApp, in a statement.

Blatt said that through a combination of company’s product innovations and these close partnerships, company plans to market next-generation content elements to support the advanced content caching, content acceleration, reporting, filtering, and bandwidth management capabilities in the industry.

The first company to be part of this new certified partner program is Allot Communications, a provider of IP service optimization and revenue-generating solutions based on deep packet inspection  technology.

Recently, Allot (News - Alert) announced MediaSwift an integrated joint solution with PeerApp. MediaSwift is available as a standalone product and as an integrated Allot Service Gateway (News - Alert) blade.

“Our past experience has shown that PeerApp and Allot work well together to deliver solutions that enrich and enhance the service provider environment and subscriber offering, and we look forward to collaborating on future projects,” said Azi Ronen, executive vice president of corporate development at Allot Communications, in a statement.

The UltraBand Certified Partner Program offers a variety of levels of collaboration such as certifying basic interoperability applications and complete software licensing. Officials said that most partners fall into one of more of the following categories -- network infrastructure vendor, system integration provider, server and storage equipment vendor, or developer of value-added software and content delivery applications.
