ContentActive Picks The Planet's Hosting Platform

The Planet, a company offering IT hosting, has announced that Houston based ContentActive has selected its hosting platform.

ContentActive develops an extensive array of Web site and communications solutions for its clients to support their online businesses. The company’s portfolio includes content management, mobile solutions, document management, hosting, and search engine marketing and optimization.

“We’ve experienced significant growth in the past six years, and any company on a growth trajectory understands how difficult it is to keep up with their IT infrastructure,” said Brian Gaubert, co-founder and CEO at ContentActive, in a release.

The content management system is the basis for company’s service, so if clients decide they suddenly need more capabilities, “we need to have a company that provides the reliability and immediate scalability we require.”

“We evaluated a number of providers, including Rackspace, and we selected The Planet based on serviceability, pricing, and the quality of its data centers and network,” added Gaubert.

Steve Kahan, vice president of marketing and product management at The Planet, noted that in today’ economy, companies are faced with even greater challenges in managing their IT infrastructure.

“From the simplest to the most complex, The Planet provides the power to select with capabilities from colocation and managed hosting, to dedicated servers that can be equipped with the value-added services many customers now require,” added Kahan.

The Planet serves as an extension of a customer's team, enabling small- and medium-size businesses (SMBs) to leverage hosting for competitive advantages. The company’s customers can select from a wide range of hosting solutions, including dedicated servers, managed dedicated servers, Northstar managed hosting and data center collocation.

Earlier this month, The Planet announced its participation at the Microsoft (News - Alert) Worldwide Partner Conference from July 13-16 at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center in New Orleans.

Also, last month, the company announced the opening of its eighth data center in the north Dallas suburb of Plano, Texas.
