Rave Computer Debuts Custom Servers and Workstations Based on Intel Xeon Processor 5500 Series

Rave Computer, a supplier and integrator of servers and mobile computer to the U.S. Military, original equipment manufacturers, and independent software vendors, has announced custom-off-shelf (COTS) computer solutions based on Intel Xeon Processor 5500 Series.

According to Rave Computer, this initiation will allow the company to better its serve customer needs with solutions featuring intelligent performance, automated energy efficiency, and flexible virtualization.

The Intel (News - Alert) Xeon processor 5500 series features an integrated memory controller and Intel QuickPath Interconnect Technology for bandwidth intensive applications, providing up to 25.6 GB/sec bandwidth per link. This new Intel microarchitecture features up to 18 slots of high-speed DDR3 memory, Hyper-Threading Technology, and Turbo Boost Technology for performance on demand.

"Rave's newest solutions feature the new Intel Xeon processor 5500 series, the industry's most innovative quad-core standard high volume server processor," said Karl Rosenberger, senior product manager at Rave Computer.

"It allows us to offer differentiated products that deliver leading performance, energy efficiency, and virtualization capabilities to our customers," added Rosenberger.

Rave Computer Association, Inc., is a privately held company based in Sterling Heights, Michigan, offering custom-off-shelf (COTS) computer solutions in a variety of platforms, including ruggedized AMD-, Intel-, and SPARC- based computer systems that utilize Microsoft (News - Alert), Sun, and Red Hat software suites.

Moreover, Rave Computer also provides storage, backup, mobile, and custom solutions that meet customers' diverse requirements. The company is an Intel Channel Partner (News - Alert) Premier Member, which allows the company to be supported and recognized by Intel as a preferred source for Intel products and technologies.

Some of the noted features of these newly announced products includes; bandwidth for technical computing up to 3.5x, up to 2.25x performance for enterprise computing, 2x software threads and performance boost on demand, highest system level performance/watt, lower system idle power, dynamically turns cores on/off meeting performance needs.

Apart from this, these products are also stated to come with the ability to expand existing pools with Intel VT FlexMigration, unique capabilities for live VM migration over network and highest 2S virtualization scores for more VMs per server.
