Clear Lake, Iowa-based capacity management software specialist
TeamQuest Corporation has
reportedly teamed up with Irvine, Calif.-based real-time performance analytics company
Integrien to offer an integrated software solution. The solution will enable proactive performance and capacity management of mission-critical applications and services, leading to a reduction in cost of IT operations.
According to a recent Forrester (
News -
Alert) survey conducted on behalf of TeamQuest, improvement of IT efficiency will be the prime concern of the industry in 2009. More than half of respondents were of the opinion that cost-cutting could be ensured if the frequency of problems and the resulting firefights could be minimized.
Edsar Calaguas, director of business development at TeamQuest, said in a release: "Companies are struggling to do more with less and improve efficiency, and IT organizations are looking to capacity management practices for help. This partnership provides solutions that automate labor-intensive tasks, proactively identify problems and their causes, and accurately predict infrastructure requirements for business growth.”
TeamQuest and Integrien are launching a solution that combines the TeamQuest Model with Integrien's Alive. The TeamQuest Model is powered by a capacity planning package that quickly and accurately predicts the impact of changes. It eliminates the need for configuring any hardware or applying artificial loads.
Integrien's Alive uses powerful analytics to provide 1.5-3 hours “heads up” to real-time performance problems, as well as one click to root cause.
In the integrated solution, Alive uses the performance data collected by TeamQuest to study the normal behavior of applications. It sends a single Smart Alert when it sees abnormal behavior indicative of an impending problem. Smart Alerts include complete analysis of the root cause of the problem so that IT staff does not have to waste time on sorting through alert storms.
"We believe the combined solution we are bringing to market is unprecedented," said Steve Henning, vice president of sales and marketing at Integrien. "Our partnership will allow us to offer an integrated solution that predicts both capacity and real-time operational issues that affect application performance, so they can be addressed before they affect end users and the bottom line of the business."
TeamQuest has a proven track record in IT Service Optimization (ITSO). According to a recent TMCnet
report, many telecom service providers have turned to TeamQuest and its data and analysis tools for optimization of IMS and SOA.
