Phoenix Technologies Optimizes HyperSpace for Netbook Users

Phoenix Technologies Ltd. a company that deals in PC 3.0 products, embedded technologies and services announced that it has optimized HyperSpace, its award-winning, revolutionary instant-on, always-connected computing environment. The announcement stated that HyperSpace has now been optimized for the ARM (News - Alert) Cortex -A8 processor architecture so that consumers that use netbooks and mobile devices which are powered by ARM processors can enjoy the ease-of-use, fund and same efficiency that HyperSpace brings to mobile PC users.

 

The ARM Cortex-A8 processor is based on the ARMv7 architecture and is the most energy-efficient and highest-performing among all ARM processors. The first superscalar processor from ARM, the Cortex-A8 processor utilizes technology for enhanced code density and performance and also provides an optimum platform for HyperSpace due to its lightweight footprint and nimble performance.

 

Earlier this year, the company released Phoenix HyperSpace for PCs and netbooks in January at CES (News - Alert) 2009 in Las Vegas. It was selected as the "Best Software" by Laptop Magazine at CES 2009 and also was the winner of Laptop Magazine's 2009 CES Readers' Choice Award.

The software is now available for download and will be integrated by major OEMs in the next-generation of notebook PCs and netbooks.

 

HyperSpace is based on a small Linux kernel and hence requires very little power and as a result of this has a significantly long battery life. It also has a great color and graphical interface which enhances ease-of-use, helping users to quickly navigate their desktop.
