Bomgar's Remote Access Software Helps Maintain Continuity During Restructuring

Bomgar, a provider of appliance-based virtual support software, now offers appliance-based remote access software to simplify training and technical support of employees, customers and computers over a variety of platforms and Internet connections to help maintain business continuity during transition.

M&A and business restructuring save the day for some businesses. For others, they bring significant growth opportunities. However, the sudden shift of focus from day-to-day activities of a business to the transition activities may destabilize the core business and minimize the gains expected from the transition.

To overcome this barrier, the company should be prepared to conduct business as usual despite the confusion generated by changes in personnel, budgets and the IT infrastructures within the merging entities, says Bomgar (News - Alert).

Bomgar’s software helps businesses keep going despite the confusions happening due to transitions such as M&As or restructuring. The software, with the help of support reps operating from Windows, Mac or Linux platforms offer support to employees and customers using Windows 95 through Vista, Windows Mobile, Ubuntu, Red Hat, SUSE and Fedora, Mac or a BlackBerry (News - Alert).

The software can be integrated with the existing IT infrastructure of the company. The process is simplified with the use of Bomgar's out of the box BMC Remedy Service Desk, LDAP, RADIUS and Kerberos, and plug-ins created with Bomgar's SDK. The software solution also allows customization of all customer-facing elements for complete branding.

Another feature, the Jump technology, provides easy support of unattended systems. It is offered as part of the enterprise package. The software application is available in Italian, Japanese, German, French and Spanish.

Bomgar's appliance-based remote access software is deployed on-site behind the perimeter of already established security measures, the company said. It provides security to every desktop connection with 256-bit AES SSL encryption. Additionally logs and videos of every session guarantee a complete record of exactly what happens at all times.

The remote support solution does not allow data to travel through a third party. Therefore, there are no security concerns typical of the normal software-as-a-service (SaaS (News - Alert)) applications.
