Intelliden Releases Discovery and Reconciliation Application

Intelliden (News - Alert), a provider of Intelligent Networking solutions designed to enable organizations to control, manage and scale their networks, has announced the release of the Intelliden Discovery and Reconciliation application.

Designed specifically for multi-vendor converged IP networks, this new application provides real-time and continuous remediation of network resource data. This discovery and reconciliation (D&R) application is designed to tightly integrate network configuration, compliance and provisioning processes with network resource reconciliation.

This new application also provides a standards-based normalized interface for easy integration with multiple third party applications that include Inventory, Fault Management, Service Management and Configuration Management Database (CMDB).

Network driven organizations spend significant time and money to deploy, operate and maintain their IP networks. Although these networks are mission critical, many organizations suffer from stranded network assets, dirty inventory and related data integrity problems.

Traditional network reconciliation solutions are considered to be inadequate for meeting the requirements of today’s dynamic, multi-vendor converged networks. They are also often disconnected with systems and processes, including network configuration management and provisioning, which are responsible for the network changes.

Intelliden Discovery and Reconciliation is built upon the patented R-Series platform and provides an accurate, real-time view of installed network assets that lead to reduced provisioning fall-out, lower network capital and maintenance expenditure, faster fault and improved capacity planning.

“Our studies show that a typical Tier 1 CSP operates with up to 35 percent of its network assets and components stranded - either lost or deployed erroneously,” said Arindam Banerjee, director of Yankee Group’s (News - Alert) Enabling Technologies Service Provider group, in a Friday statement.

“Intelliden’s Discovery and Reconciliation application will help companies to more efficiently deploy their existing network infrastructure and improve overall integrity and management of critical network data,” added Banerjee.

Intelliden Discovery and Reconciliation serves as a real-time source of multi-vendor IP network resources for third party applications; continuously monitors and remediates device changes; shields third party applications from device specific characteristics; provides seamless integration with Intelliden’s network configuration, compliance and provisioning applications; scales to meet requirements of larger network environments; and incorporates a Web services oriented, event driven interface based on TeleManagement Forum (TMF) standards for rapid integration.

“Accurate, real-time insight and management of network resources helps organizations to optimize their existing equipment instead of purchasing new hardware that they may not need,” said Alan Black (News - Alert), president and CEO of Intelliden, in Friday’s statement.

“Intelliden’s new Discovery and Reconciliation applications enables network driven organizations to reduce network related CAPEX and OPEX (News - Alert) as well as improve network provisioning accuracy, fault resolution times and overall network data integrity,” Black explained.

Intelliden’s Discovery and Reconciliation application provides an essential tool for the organization to be able to leverage the benefits of its existing networks and infrastructure, protecting the initial investment.

It also protects the integrity of the network, delivering better function and operation over the long term. In doing so, the company can effectively drive increased demand for its solution, widening its share of the market.
