Eaton Intros Eaton 9130 UPS, Helps IT Managers Carry Out Green Initiative

Diversified industrial manufacturer Eaton (News - Alert) has introduced new addition to the Powerware series, the Eaton 9130 UPS, saying that it’ll help information technology (IT) managers carry out green initiatives in their IT environments.

The new 700 to 3000 VA UPS models feature a “high-efficiency” design that saves energy without sacrificing reliability, according to company officials.

“Eaton’s 9130 has been specifically designed to meet the needs of our customers by delivering high power availability while using an exceptionally efficient design,” said Hervé Tardy, vice president and general manager of Distributed Power Quality Business Unit at Eaton.

He also said in a statement that customers will find the Eaton 9130 “one of the most” energy intelligent UPSs on the market today that offers not only smart energy management, but also provides the highest level of power protection that today’s IT infrastructures require.

For delivering full power to equipment having wide range of leading and lagging power factors, the Eaton 9130 features a 0.9 output power factor. And, according to the company, it’s ideal for servers networking equipment, telecommunications, voice over IP (VoIP) and security systems.

Using a double-conversion design, the UPS continually monitors power conditions—regulating both voltage and frequency—to provide pure sinewave power. Moreover, Eaton 9130 features a wide input voltage window.

This feature eliminates the need of UPS to depend on batteries to smooth out minor power fluctuations, thus saving battery life. Officials said that the 9130 also features Eaton’s ABM technology that integrates sensing circuitry and a three-stage charging technique.

Additional features of the Eaton 9130 include up to 3000 VA in only 2U (3.5 inches) of rack space and the tower model is only 1.5 square feet; Eaton’s LanSafe provides control and visibility over all of the UPSs using a graphical interface and simple network management protocol (SNMP). Also, the Eaton 9130 offers back panels to accommodate an array of NEMA and IEC (News - Alert) receptacles for global applications.

Eaton is a provider of electrical systems for power quality, distribution and control; hydraulics components, systems and services for industrial and mobile equipment; aerospace fuel, hydraulics and more.

On Sunday, Company launched a global effort to reposition Eaton with employees, customers and other key stakeholders. The initiative features a new corporate brand signature that expresses defines Eaton’s strength as a power management company.
