Information Technology -InTouch Health Intros New Product Features to Improve Care of Stroke Patients

InTouch Technologies, a provider of remote presence health care solutions, has launched a new product feature, StrokeRESPOND. The company is looking to improve stroke care by developing telestroke networks and its stroke solution is part of this focused initiative.

Remote Presence is a next generation telemedicine technology platform, combining the power of robotics, wireless, and the Internet to enable hospitals and physicians to bring the right care to a patient at the right time.

StrokeRESPOND enhances process flexibility and rapid clinical decision-making. Stroke experts can now provide efficient and informed care decisions for stroke patients as they timely and seamless one-stop access to the required information to stroke experts. StrokeRESPOND is an enhancement to the remote presence platform and has been designed specifically to support the expert physician’s acute stroke management workflow.

As data elements are captured by the ED staff and accessed immediately by the consulting stroke expert directly through the RP-7 system, they can be entered into a secure Web site. Coupled with RP-7, StrokeRESPOND provides the specialist with relevant information.

Many institutions around the country have already deployed Remote Presence (RP-7) systems and have reported benefits such as improved geographical reach of stroke specialists and more timely delivery of appropriate stroke care. Further indirect benefits include enhanced stroke education and awareness throughout the community, resulting in stroke care and patient outcomes.

InTouch Health is also looking to provide a complete, powerful telestroke solution by partnering with leaders in the healthcare industry. The first of those corporate partnerships to be announced is a collaboration with Neurostar Solutions, which will bring important clinical image management application to specialists.

Yulun Wang, Chairman and CEO of InTouch Technologies, said: “We are pleased to announce a total stroke solution that will help deliver expert stroke care to the population regardless of time and geographical space barriers. StrokeRESPOND and Remote Presence have the potential to truly impact and revolutionize the delivery of stroke care.”
