Analytics for Federated CDNs Introduced by Skytide

Insight for Federated Content Delivery Networks analytics and reporting application has been introduced by Skytide (News - Alert). The unique challenges of measuring network performance across a CDN federation can be addresses with this analytics and reporting application. An announcement in this regard has been made by Skytide, the top company in Online Video Management Analytics.

Skytide Insight for Federated CDNs will be able to process the huge volumes of log file data that a CDN federation will generate. The application will then quickly transform the log file data into finished reports. Costs and revenue can be now allocated properly as the Insight for Federated CDNs will provide the necessary rich, multidimensional details. Apart from complying with SLAs, the meaningful insights needed to operate an interconnected content delivery business will be supplied by the application.

Appropriate levels of data visibility at different points across the digital media supply chain will be offered by Skytide Insight for Federated CDNs. Secure portals can be therefore supplied by service providers to their customers and business partners. A customizable and extensible architecture of Skytide Insight for Federated CDNs will be able to accommodate rapidly evolving business models.

Michael O'Donnell, president and CEO of Skytide will be speaking at the CDN World Summit. O'Donnell will be present on the panel “Outlining the Possible Different CDN Federation Models and Structures”. The presentation will be held on Thursday, October 27 at 15:30 GMT.

According to O'Donnell, an unprecedented opportunity to compete directly with global content delivery providers is offered by CDN federation to telecom service providers. This opportunity however has a complex undertaking.

In a release, O'Donnell said, “Skytide can reduce that complexity and time to market by acting as a central analytics & reporting hub that gathers data across all content owners and federation members, while also providing secure, private views of data relevant only to each participant. We look forward to working with these service providers as they begin to interconnect.”

In other news, Skytide recently announced version 2.2 of its Insight for Content Delivery Networks reporting and analytics application, updated to address the performance measurement needs of telecom and cable service providers building their own CDN and IPTV (News - Alert) services.
