MSTAR Passes NAGRA Certification and Provides On-Chip Security (NOCS) Certified Chipsets

MStar Semiconductor, provider of TV solutions, announced that it has passed NAGRA chipset certification and provides now a NOCS 1.2-ready solution.This solution is available now for mass production, and is already deployed and suitable for Standard and High Definition Set-Top Boxes, as well as for IP, Cable, Terrestrial and Satellite networks.

"Working with NAGRA, the world's leading provider of advanced security and multiscreen user experience solutions, was a great challenge for us, the level of security and expertise required was extremely high, but we did it, and we are quite proud of this achievement. This certification and the first productions confirmed that MStar strengths and leadership are not only focused on TV solutions and Free-to-Air STBs but also on an operator's business with secure and cost effective solutions," stated Philippe Notton, DTV marketing director.

"The combination of MStar's state-of-the-art expertise in terms of broadband TV and MStar's broadcast Pay-TV STB will be the key to MStar's forthcoming STB growth," Notton added.Also, in related news, MStar announced the availability of Acetrax Premium service as part of its connected software platform for TV and STBs.

MStar created the "MStar Connected" package by developing a complete turnkey software stack and engaged with content providers to provide a wide portfolio of services on the platform. The platform is available to manufacturers, product developers, operators & retailers.

Acetrax Premium Service is now pre-integrated and available on the MStar connected TV platform.

MStar is already massively deployed in the digital TV market. MStars experience, gained through market deployment and the acquisition of engineering assets provides customers with cost effective hardware, tightly coupled to one of the most comprehensive turnkey software stacks in the industry.
