Business Compliance Headaches? iland Can Help

When trying to make your business code-compliant, it can be very difficult to bring all the disparate sources within an organization together. The new holistic cloud security from iland intends to fix that. It’s equipped with a unified compliance engine along with a robust security protocol to ensure its customers are abiding by the regulations that are in place.

The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), SSAE 16 – SOC 2 (Trust Service Principles), Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard v3 (PCI (News - Alert) DSS v3), the Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP), the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), and the information security standard ISO 27001 are just some of the regulations organizations have to abide by.

Failure to comply can result in hefty fines from regulators, lawsuits and even incarceration if there is gross violation.

The new iland (News - Alert) solution has specific compliance tools for HIPAA and other regulatory requirements delivered through the cloud. It provides security and operational scanning with an integrated management platform that alerts users, and makes it possible to request reports on-demand if it is needed by inspectors, eDiscovery or any other reason.

According to the company, the new service lets IT use cloud IaaS and DRaaS initiatives without having to worry about prior concerns of cloud adoption. One of the reasons cloud adoptions were low in organizations that had to comply with some of these regulation was the infrastructure that was in place didn’t provide alerting and reporting.

“Many cloud service providers have given a nod to compliance through extremely patchy reporting and alerting without really addressing the issue,” said Justin Giardina, chief technology officer, iland. “That is only half the battle. At iland, we recognise that it takes both compliance focused features and reporting in addition to an in-house compliance team to provide our customers with real peace of mind in today’s complicated regulatory environment.”

The reporting capabilities of inland are able to address the compliance rules that drive HIPAA and the other regulations mentioned above. The management console comes with a number of on-demand reports covering summaries, event histories, platform assurances and more to fulfill the many different audit requirements of the US, EMEA and APAC regions.

Some of the security and compliance assurances iland provides include, antivirus and malware detection, accelerated storage with encryption at rest, whole disk encryption, event history, including log inspection and access logs, dual factor authentication and more.
