Verizon Expanding Secure Cloud Service into Latin America

Verizon’s (News - Alert) secure cloud solution has been growing by leaps and bounds over the last few months. Now the company says that it is going to be expanding the service and deepening its global footprint with an expansion into Latin America. This entry into that region is just part of the way the company is growing its service. Verizon has said it will also be offering additional sites in Europe and the United States.

The locations that are going to get an immediate expansion include Sao Paulo, Frankfurt, an Russelheim, Germany. New York and Los Angeles in the United States are getting new plans as well. Verizon’s Secure Cloud Interconnect Service now allows for secure, private connections to six cloud providers around the world (Amazon Web Services (News - Alert), Google, HP, Microsoft Azure Express Route for Microsoft Office 365/Skype for Business/Government Cloud, Salesforce; Verizon).

"Verizon's Secure Cloud Interconnect allows users to connect to applications simply, securely and reliably," Shawn Hakl, vice president of enterprise networking and innovation for Verizon said in a recent statement. "SCI customers will find our solution delivers an unbeatable combination of performance, security and efficiency to help enable their digital transformation while reducing the complexity often associated with cloud computing."

By taking advantage of what Verizon is offering, companies that are using cloud, hybrid cloud, and colocations solutions from any of the cloud or data center providers that are connected to Secure Cloud Interconnect can now take advantage of the Verizon Private IP network solution. This solution has consumption-based bandwidth and controlled application performance, multiple classes of service and usage based billing models.

At the moment, Verizon’s cloud based private IP is in more than 170 markets around the globe, spread out among a number of different classes of services that are there to be scalable depending on what the user wants.
