Russian Hackers Have President Obama's Unclassified Emails

No one has to convince the Obama administration that hackers are posing a problem to everyone in the world. The administration has been actively trying to make sure that those who are acquiring ill-gotten information are not profiting. All of this is in addition to recent revelations that Russian hackers who were able to access the White House’s unclassified computer system actually read some of President Obama’s email correspondences.

This means that the hackers’ access is far more intrusive and worrisome than officials first believed. It appears that the hackers didn’t get into the most closely guarded databases but according to the New York Times, they did get deep enough to make plenty of U.S. officials worried.

Still, the Obama administration wants to make sure people understand that no classified information appears to have been accessed. The administration said that most officials actually have two computers in their offices. One of these computers is operating on a highly secured network while the other one is connected to the Internet so that they can talk with other people through an unclassified network.

Still, with the amount of malware that is out in the world these days, it’s no coincidence that people are a bit worried about the issue. There is even some malware that cannot be stopped once it gets on a computer until the hard drive is actually destroyed.

The officials haven’t said the number of emails that were accessed nor what kind of topics he was emailing or how sensitive the information actually was. The revelation that Russian hackers had managed to get access to the White House servers was only divulged last week.
