Dimension Data Successfully Deploys Glassbeam Platform

Dimension Data (News - Alert), a $6 billion global ICT services and solutions provider, recently selected the Glassbeam platform to optimize its global enterprise-class cloud data center operations.

With the help of Glassbeam, Dimension Data has been able to analyze and predict capacity utilization to manage over 4000 clients spread across 25 global cloud data centers.

"Dimension Data's cloud business is on a rapid growth trajectory and we plan to quadruple our data center business by 2018," said Steve Nola, Group Executive of Dimension Data's ITaaS Business Unit, in a press statement.

He further added: "To support this growth we need to partner with big data analytics experts who can help us analyze log data to manage and optimize our multiple global data center operations. I am pleased to announce the partnership with Glassbeam to help us successfully manage this growth."

The advanced machine data analytics of Glassbeam changes complex formats of multi-structured data from storage devices, networking equipment applications and backup solutions to profile capacity utilization across customers, detect and proactively notify anomalies by setting rules on specific thresholds, rate of change in CPU utilization etc.

Officials said that Glassbeam's platform uses its powerful Semiotic Parsing Language to quickly extract operational information from various platforms and applications in order to offer insights to monitor and manage IT infrastructure assets in a data center.

In March this year, TMCnet reported that Meru Networks (News - Alert) has successfully deployed the Glassbeam platform to achieve high levels of customer satisfaction by optimizing their support operations.
