The Indian IT outsourcer Wipro’s (News - Alert) decade long presence in Australia receives further boost with the company bagging a major deal from the Australian arm of 7-eleven. The project is aimed at completely revamping the retail process for the entire organization, a joint statement revealed. The project will upgrade the current IT environment to make it compatible to the latest versions of SAP software. The project includes the implementation of SAP Business Suite powered by SAP HANA. The implementation facilitates a real-time transactional and reporting infrastructure that
will help improve the business functionality at all the 7-Eleven stores across the country.
A revamped IT system will make room for new merchandise categories, all the while supporting the existing merchandise.
With the overhauled system, it will be easier for all the 7-eleven stores to simultaneously launch real-time targeted promotions.
The up-gradation will also improve the flexibility of the applications allowing for easy integration of new processes during mergers and acquisitions.

The Wipro spokespeople revealed that the company will employ SAP Business Suite for the implementation of the project. According to the officials, this project represents the first implementations of the SAP for Retail solution portfolio on the SAP HANA platform across Asia Pacific and Japan. This sophisticated platform, which comes complete with predictive customer analytics feature, will allow the retail giant to more accurately plan its future business strategies.
