Good Technology Successfully Purchases Fixmo Security Business

Good Technology (News - Alert), a major player in secure mobility, recently acquired certain assets of Fixmo Inc., including Fixmo U.S., Inc.

Under the terms of this acquisition, Good Technology will integrate Fixmo’s Sentinel Integrity Services and other key products into the company’s industry-leading secure mobility platform.

Fixmo Sentinel Integrity Services have been developed under a Co-operative Research and Development Agreement with the U.S. Department of Defense. It helps IT organizations ensure mobile devices start and remain in a known trusted state and within corporate compliance.

This acquisition will help Good to enhance its comprehensive, end-to-end product solution and make a significant investment in the company’s growing public sector business.

Late last year, Fixmo was chosen to provide mobile data protection and cyber security solutions for the U.S. Defense Information Systems Agency (News - Alert). The company’s technology is used to secure mobile applications and protect the integrity and compliance of DISA-managed mobile devices.

In a press statement, Christy Wyatt, Chairman and CEO of Good Technology, said: "With the addition of Fixmo’s unique device integrity and tamper detection technology to the industry’s leading secure container and platform from Good, we can uniquely deliver defense-grade security to ensure all layers, from the OS to applications and data shared between apps, are protected with the most advanced security framework available, unmatched by any other mobile solution provider.”

Both Good and Fixmo are trusted by government and defense agencies around the world. Officials said that the combined capabilities created by this acquisition will help extend Good’s ability to uniquely deliver government-grade security solutions that customers require.

Furthermore, the acquisition will also allow Good to expand its employee base and leverage Fixmo’s Sterling, Virginia and Toronto, Canada offices to support ongoing research and development.

Rick Segal, Founder and CEO of Fixmo, said: “This acquisition, and the strength of our combined solution, will provide the most advanced capabilities for our customers and more opportunities to innovate for our partners and employees.”
