Ingram Micro Selected as Authorized IBM Global Training Provider

Ingram Micro (News - Alert) Inc., a wholesale technology distributor and a global player in IT supply-chain and mobile device lifecycle services, has been selected as an authorized IBM (News - Alert) Global Training Provider (GTP).

Thanks to being an authorized GTP, Ingram Micro now becomes one of five companies authorized to provide the complete portfolio of software and systems courses from IBM Training.

Officials with Ingram said that Ingram Micro Training will launch its new IBM Training in Europe, Asia Pacific and North America in the second quarter and then expand its IBM services worldwide to approximately 100 countries.

Ingram Micro Training is a one-stop shop for the skills development needs of IT professionals worldwide and a strategic partner to technology vendors.

“Training and education are critical to the success of our channel partners and this is an area of our business which Ingram Micro continues to invest and deliver superior performance and value,” said Paul Bay, senior executive vice president and president, Ingram Micro North America, in a statement.

Bay said that the company is pleased to expand on its long-standing relationship with IBM and play an integral role in the execution of IBM Training.

“Together, we will help our channel partners worldwide serve better and earn better by advancing their skill set and differentiating their value and expertise,” he said.

Ingram Micro Training was selected by IBM for its proven ability to execute and offer IBM Training on a global scale, helping participants to obtain the education they need within the confines of today's demanding work environments.

McDonald  said that the company looks forward to expanding its successful relationship with Ingram Micro and helping channel partners and IT professionals advance their skill sets for mobile, cloud, analytics and social while meeting the technical needs of businesses worldwide.

Recently, e-Nabler Corp., creators of the award-winning mobile POS software eMobilePOS announced that it has signed a U.S. distribution agreement with Ingram Micro.

Under the new agreement, Ingram Micro will distribute the eMobilePOS mobile point-of-sale software to channel partners in the U.S.
