Windstream Designs New System to Reduce Customized Cloud Provisioning Time

Windstream (News - Alert), a provider of enterprise-class managed hosted solutions, has designed and developed a new rapid automation solution that can bring down the customized cloud provisioning time.

The company stated that it offers the most robust, enterprise-class cloud solutions including public, private, hybrid cloud and cloud storage option and these offerings can be deployed to realize enhanced efficiency and improved availability of IT resources, applications and data in one’s organization. And its new cloud automation system supports end-to-end on-demand provisioning in the Windstream Hosted Solutions public cloud.

Melanie Posey, research vice president at IDC (News - Alert), explained, “Enterprises require true automation of IT operations management in service provider cloud platforms. Windstream’s new cloud automation capability, combined with its high touch service model and ability to implement customized network and/or compute configurations for clients, creates real differentiation in the enterprise cloud solutions market.”

One of the essential features of the new solution is that it lets users to access rapid provisioning without having to back down on the quality of their customized solutions designs and will be available as an alternative to preconfigured network containers that may not suit customers’ specific requirements. Because Windstream customizes the cloud environments for each customer, the implementation time is vastly reduced and tailor made public cloud environments are easily deployed. 

Chris Nicolini, senior vice president of data center operations at Windstream commented, “This new automation solution creates a self-contained enterprise virtual data center (EVDC) unique to each customer. Every EVDC is configured with its own operating systems, virtual machines and network configuration to meet our customers’ distinct specifications, including features such as monitoring and backups.”

Nicolini added, “Our customers wanted a solution that met their needs without having to wait days for implementation. In response to this demand, we’ve adopted this automation solution to provide both benefits – customization and a quick turnaround.”
