Huawei's Media Cloud Solution: A Game Changer for the Media Industry

The media and entertainment industry is evolving from ‘delivering content only’ to delivering, producing and distributing it. Huawei, which has always been at the forefront, is allowing enterprises to produce streamlined high definition (HD) videos and also manage large amounts of content easily with its Media Cloud solution—built on open architecture.

With the Huawei (News - Alert) Media Cloud Solution, enterprises in the media and entertainment (M&E) industry can address a wide range of needs – right from critical network infrastructure to innovative technologies that help them keep pace with evolving technology.

The solution  supports online expansion of storage capacity that can cater for customers' business growth for at least five years. As the solution provides 200 GB/s bandwidth, multimedia content can be shared for a long duration.

In addition, the solution enables quick deployment.  The launch time for new service has been reportedly cut by 60 percent. Moreover as it enables unified management of virtual resources and physical equipment, customers can effectively reduce total cost of ownership by 47 percent.

Thus the solution effectively addresses the need for effective HD video storage for long-term usage, swift system deployment for new service activation, and efficient cross-location video file migration.

With digitization and globalization, expanding HD TV channels, omnimedia and IMAX/3D film markets becoming center-stage; Huawei’s recent Media Cloud solution easily ensures that these become realities.

"Huawei is committed to building an open and win-win industry ecosystem where enterprises can leverage leading ICT technologies to achieve agile business operation and development," said Mr. Fan Ruiqi, president of Huawei's IT and storage product line.

Huawei's Media Cloud Solution has been successfully deployed by M&E corporations and organizations worldwide, and the provider intends to continue to develop integrated solutions for the industry, enabling the ongoing growth and development of such corporations in the big data era.

"With profound experience and proven expertise in ICT technologies, Huawei will continue to provide customers in the M&E industry with converged, easy-to-manage end-to-end solutions, that enable them to address challenges and achieve business success in the digital age," concluded Ruiqi
