Comings & Goings: Altitude Software Promotes Miguel Vital to Chief Technology Officer

Yesterday, Altitude Software (News - Alert) announced the appointment of Miguel Vital as Chief Technology Officer (CTO) for the Lisbon, Portugal site. This is a step up from his current position within the company as R&D Director, a position that he has held from June 2000 to February 2013 (12 years, 9 months).

Altitude Software is a privately owned, independent company in the Information Technology and Services industry. The company has 300 employees and has venture capital and institutional investors. Since its establishment in 1993, it has become a well-known international provider of unified customer interaction solutions (with about 1100 customers in 80 countries) and a key market player (in a rapidly evolving sector) that provides centers with the latest technology and flexible ways of running their businesses.

According to a post by Total Telecom (News - Alert), an online source with news, reports and analysis in the telecoms industry, Vital has many years of experience in contact center solutions technological development and innovation. Up until his promotion to CTO, he “held several technical and management positions within Altitude Software R&D [as leader in charge of Development Methodologies and Processes] and was key in enabling every major product release in the last decade.”

As CTO, Vital “will be in charge of the product life cycle, managing the Research & Development (R&D) and the Product Management teams,” the post states. His leadership role will have to concentrate on dedicating the necessary resources to the innovation, so as to ensure newer products and solutions are delivered. The rapidly-evolving field of unified interaction solutions, in fact, requires companies to be able to provide in a timely way “next generation software solutions for effective customer engagement that leverages existing technology investments, adding value without disruption across a wide range of situations with low total cost of ownership,” stated Alfredo Redondo, Altitude Software CEO. He added that Vital’s “extensive experience and great track record will help ensure that [the company will] continue to deliver outstanding business results in contact centers, from true media blending to true customer engagement.”

Miguel Vital will be responsible to the CEO to help drive the latest technology trends in contact centers, ensuring that Altitude uCI solutions—the company’s Unified Customer Interaction suite over IP—maximizes results in the contact centers and provides successful real-time analytics solutions for their customer interaction and organizational efficiency strategies.

Redondo explains that Altitude uCI is a solution that is capable of handling billions of interactions from thousands of businesses daily. It helps companies deliver effective customer service, as well as marketing and sales, using all available communication channels including voice, email, social media and mobile applications. Altitude uCI was specifically designed to speed up operations, while simplifying the contact center management, in addition to automatically respond to changing business needs, and, ultimately, raise customer satisfaction levels, noted the company’s website.

Largely, Miguel Vital’s new role as CTO “will be to drive the continued innovation that has powered Altitude Software next generation customer interaction solutions,” and ensure that Altitude uCI delivers a complete suite that enables contact centers to play a key role in the overall enterprise information value chain.
