Wheelings & Dealings: Rocket Software Acquires Trubiquity

Rocket Software, a global software development firm, has acquired Trubiquity.

Trubiquity is a global provider of MFT (managed file transfer), process automation and integration solutions for 6,500 companies in the automotive, aerospace, manufacturing, retail, finance, healthcare and consumer goods industries.

For more than 25 years, Trubiquity solutions have helped world class companies and partners better communicate, collaborate, integrate and automate business critical data ensuring security and compliance with rigorous international standards.

The acquisition will afford Trubiquity customers the benefit of a broad global platform and additional research and development resources.

The solutions from Trubiquity are a strong complement to Rocket data access and integration solutions.

"Over the last 19 years, Trubiquity has built a reputation for delivering solutions that ensure that the right data is delivered in the right format at the right time, both within a company and between companies,” said Andy Youniss, president and chief executive officer of Rocket Software, in a statement

“These solutions fit well with our data access and integration offerings, and we welcome our new customers and look forward to supporting them and introducing them to the broader Rocket portfolio of products," said Youniss.

After the acquisition, Rocket will retain the Trubiquity name in association with the acquired products and the Trubiquity team, which is based in Troy, Michigan with additional offices in Carlsbad, California, Leeds, UK and three locations in Germany, will join the Rocket global organization of more than 1,000 Rocketeers.

Trubiquity will be part of the data access and integration offerings at Rocket.

Earlier in December, Rocket Software had announced that it has signed a software remarketing agreement with IBM (News - Alert).

Under terms of the contract, IBM will resell Rocket Servergraph, a storage product that enhances timely business decision making for backup administrators, IT managers and CIOs.

Rocket Servergraph provides dashboards, rich data visualizations, alerts and graphical reports that transform the way users manage their backup environments. The product provides integrated monitoring and reporting support of the data protection environment in addition to a complete set of reports and dashboards provided at both the enterprise and server level for a broad range of supported applications.
