High Fives for CoreSite for Achieving Three 'Six-Nines' in a Row

With technology and enterprise data gaining in significance, building and managing superior data centers that ensure almost 100 percent uptime has become more relevant than ever before. For three consecutive years CoreSite (News - Alert) Realty Corporation notes that it has been an industry leader in data center reliability by achieving an average of “six-nines,” across its platform of data center facilities.

This figure, which includes 100 percent uptime through Hurricane Sandy in 2012, translates into unscheduled downtime of less than 32 seconds (99.9999 percent uptime) annually compared to the industry benchmark of five-nines availability. This means that Coresite has been able to technically provide 10 times the required reliability in data centers.

“We are pleased to again be an industry leader in data center reliability, reflecting the professionalism, training and care of our facilities teams as well as the high quality of our enterprise-class data centers,” said Tom Ray (News - Alert), CEO at CoreSite.

CoreSite conducts an SSAE 16 Type 2 SOC 1 review on all data centers annually. This assures its customers of the reliability of its power and cooling systems, the security of premises, and the quality technical support. It uses 95 percent-efficient, scalable UPS units, variable-speed fan air-conditioning units, zoned lighting, and branch circuit monitoring to encourage responsible energy use and minimize P.U.E. (power usage effectiveness).

In addition, it provides customers with highly reliable, secure and compliant data center solutions, enabling them to follow regulatory compliance requirements as needed. On-site facility and security employees receive rigorous and recurring training as they work toward developing more accountability.

Further, Coresite’s employees constantly monitor real-time performance and ensure that the data center infrastructure maintains ideal health levels at all times. The corporation is thus able to deliver secure and reliable data center solutions and ensure continued operation of mission-critical data and IT infrastructure for enterprises and Internet, private networking, mobility, and cloud service providers.

With excellent, energy-efficient  data center infrastructure and committed, qualified personnel to keep the centers ticking, achieving six-nines will become more of a ‘habit’ for Coresite rather than an achievement.
