CIO of The College Network Earns 2014 Frost & Sullivan Impact Award

Ryan Sallee, chief information officer at The College Network (TCN) supposedly won the 2014 Frost & Sullivan (News - Alert) Chief Information Officer Impact Award in the Cloud Computing category for implementing the EarthLink cloud solution.

TCN along with its partner universities have been providing accessible educational programs for individuals seeking degrees or professional certificates, entirely through distance learning and they also have built a learning culture based on core values such as quality, learning, innovation, excellence, integrity, and service.

TCN recently deployed a customized EarthLink-designed private cloud solution in order to streamline its entire IT infrastructure and strengthened interdepartmental communication and for doing so it was nominated for the Frost & Sullivan award.

It was Ryan Sallee’ decision in 2011 to deploy the EarthLink cloud-based solution. Sallee also put the EarthLink team in charge of the daily management of the infrastructure. EarthLink customized an advanced cloud hosting and dedicated server solution to support the TCN’s replicated and highly scalable database.

EarthLink explained that its cloud dedicated server hosting solution offers users with complete control over an entire server and can bring their business increased flexibility, and higher levels of server performance, reliability, and security. It does not demand the cost and maintenance of a traditional in-house server.
