Sharp Launches Cloud Portal Office

Sharp (News - Alert) Imaging and Information Company of America, a division of Sharp Electronics Corporation, has launched Cloud Portal Office, a first-of-its-kind software service that allows businesses to collaborate in more efficient manner. The service is designed for an increasingly mobile workforce where companies need to share information while maintaining control and security over critical documents.

Cloud Portal Office includes Cloud Portal Office Desktop for syncing software with Macintosh OS and Microsoft Windows computers; Cloud Portal Office Mobile app for the iPhone (News - Alert), iPad and Android devices; Cloud Portal Office Meeting Room, a AQUOS BOARD Interactive Display connector; and Cloud Portal Office Scan/Print, a Sharp OSA enabled MFP Connector enabling seamless integration.

The service allows users to store, share and retrieve files, presentations, images, and videos from anywhere at any time. The system does this by leveraging a single repository for both electronic and hard copy documents accessible from a wide range of communications platforms, including tablets, smartphones and traditional PCs. It can also be integrated into a range of Sharp hardware products, including multi-function printers (MFPs), allowing employees to print from and scan to Sharp's cloud.

This versatile and scalable service is intended to allow business to connect, collaborate, conference, capture and archive hard copy document through Sharp OSA enabled MFPs. It serves as both a channel and management platform while providing end customers with unified license management and single sign-on across services.

Mike Marusic, senior vice president, Marketing and Business Solutions Group, Sharp Imaging and Information Company of America, said in a statement, "Sharp's Cloud Portal Office is a cost effective, fully integrated solution for businesses large and small, it allows companies to balance the needs of their workforce to collaborate while maintaining a high level of security."
