Ronald McDonald House Houston, a nonprofit organization that provides a home away from home to families with seriously ill children, has launched a new website powered by Tendenci Open Source (News - Alert) Content Management System (CMS).
The new website has a bright and appealing look to it, Tendenci explained, and has many unique features essential to cause-related associations and not-for-profit organizations (NPOs), such as donor and fundraising management, online event management and rich media management. The newly upgraded website features prominent icons which link to the NPO’s key communities, including families, volunteers and donors.
Tendenci, a revenue-generating online tool, has designed its Open Source CMS to cater specifically to cause-related organizations, providing greater freedom and control over their online presence. Tendenci's CMS enables Ronald McDonald House Houston to add, update and organization website content, thereby encouraging return users. The open source solution also provides rich integrated media management to easily upload, view and search photos; online event management to quickly and easily add events to its online calendar; built-in invoicing and financial reporting capabilities; automatic search engine optimization; and social media integration.
In a release, Catie Tuley, marketing coordinator, Ronald McDonald House Houston, said, "The fact that Tendenci is open source is important because it gives us a lot of flexibility and we can do a lot more things than we could with our previous website. Our new website does a great job of encouraging the community to get involved in various ways – by making an online donation, hosting a meal, donating items on our 'Wish List,' or launching a fundraising campaign of their own."
