The beauty about the Internet and information and communications technology (ICT) is that it simplifies the process of bringing like-minded individuals together. No matter how obscure the subject matter is, eventually enough people come together to form a group to share ideas. That was the idea behind HiveNation when Aerohive (News - Alert) launched the site a little more than a year ago on January 15, 2013. The goal was to provide the company's global customers and like-minded IT professionals a community in which they can engage each other.
Aerohive Networks (News - Alert), a provider of controller-less Wi-Fi and cloud-managed mobile networking for the enterprise market, is celebrating the one-year anniversary of HiveNation with close to 2000 members and a new design for better mobile experience for its members. The newly redesigned site will improve user experience by automatically adapting to members' screens no matter what type of device they use.
With more than 1,500 discussions posted in the past year, members are able to share future projects, problems and solutions by learning from each other and gaining insight with hands-on experience.
In addition to providing a forum in which its customers can collaborate, it also hosted interactive online events. This past year several subjects have been discussed including: all Things 802.11ac, a one-day event to discuss the transition to the newest wireless standard of 802.11ac. With participants discussing 802.11ac technology, deployment concerns, planning and more; and an 802.11ac webinar follow up: webinar on 802.11ac with principal analyst Andre Kindness from Forrester Research (News - Alert) Inc. and Wi-Fi expert Matthew Gast.
For this coming year, Aerohive has launched its Champion community of HiveNation for members who have excelled in lending their expertise to help other members.
Founded in 2006, Aerohive specializes in controller-less Wi-Fi and cloud-enabled enterprise networking. It provides solutions to simplify accessing networks through its self-organizing, service-aware, identity-based infrastructure Wi-Fi, VPN, branch routing and switching.
"We launched HiveNation a year ago with the goal of providing a wealth of information and an interactive community for customers and thought leaders to learn from each other. It’s been wonderful to see the community take off so quickly, with close to 2,000 members who are so eager to help each other out and engage. We look forward to continuing the community momentum and sparking even more interesting conversations as we enter our second year," said David Greene, chief marketing officer, Aerohive.
