AlphaPoint Converts AssetCentral from On-premise Architecture to a Production SaaS Model

AlphaPoint Technology a specialist in providing DCIM and ITAM solutions has converted its flagship application, AssetCentral from an on-premise/hosting architecture to a production Software-as-a-Service (SaaS (News - Alert)) model along with its PSL Go-to-Market partner and systems integrator.

PSL is a government contracting firm that delivers technology products, services and advisory capabilities that cater to customers’ organizational, information and management needs.

James McGriff, president/CTO for PSL said, “We understand that cloud programs are only as effective as the technology they’re built upon. With AssetCentral, data center customers now have a single, powerful, always up, maintainable infrastructure that enables rapid, large scale deployment in a matter of hours, as opposed to weeks and months.”

AssetCentral is popular as it is easy to use. The new AssetCentral infrastructure SaaS platform is expected to reduce the time to incorporate customer enhancements in addition to making them reliable and efficient, noted Gary Macleod, President of AlphaPoint.

Officials explained that the new SaaS platform will further improve AssetCentral open APIs or application program interfaces as it features a programmable interface that can tightly integrate existing Web applications and services.

As this new development has attracted customers, AlphaPoint has already begun logging and beta testing potential customers on the new platform.

McGriff continued that the AssetCentral’s first-to-market, data center IT asset management production SaaS platform ensures the long-term growth and evolution of data center asset management environments. This advantage plus the reduced costs of hardware installations, software licenses, system maintenance, storage and upgrades will make it an optimum solution for customers.

AlphaPoint Technology announced in September 2013 that its go-to-market partner for the rapidly expanding U.S. Government sector, Peniel Solutions (PSL), has contracted cloud hosting services with Amazon Web Services (News - Alert) (AWS) for AssetCentral on their GovCloud platform.
