The objective of GENIVI is to create an open-source platform that consists of a Linux-based core, middleware and application layer for different interfaces. Through this objective, GENIVI encourages developers to create applications that are compliant with guidelines. It also sponsors technical and compliance programs from time to time. Mentor Graphics (News - Alert) ATP meets all these guidelines with its Freescale I.MX6, Texas Instruments OMAP 5 and Renesas R-CAR H1. One of its reusable component is the virtual BSP that is designed for host-based development and testing. Also, the use of OMAP 5 by Texas Instruments (News - Alert) enhances the reusability aspect and at the same time, helps ATP to use the rich processing and graphics performances of this platform.
For all these reasons, the ATP platform by Mentor Graphics is expected to be a platform on which advanced system will be created for IVI Systems.
