SevOne Awarded Patent for Uniquely Scalable Approach to Performance Management

SevOne, a provider of performance monitoring solutions, announced that United States Patent and Trademark Office has awarded a patent for its technology that outlines a uniquely scalable approach to data collection and reporting.

The patent gives SevOne  the intellectual property rights to technology underlying the SevOne Cluster Architecture, which is designed to provide unparalleled visibility into network and data center performance.

SevOne Cluster Architecture leverages distributed computing to address any scalability concerns. The technology monitors millions of objects across multiple technologies and provides a single Web based console for unlimited users. The service is used by several clients to monitor the performance of their critical infrastructure.

The technology combines the cutting edge principles behind peer-to-peer sharing and big data clusters to scale smoothly so that millions of network elements, across all monitoring technologies, can be monitored from a single pane of glass, the company said.

"IT infrastructure is becoming increasingly complex at the same time that it's supporting ever-more critical business functions," said SevOne CTO Vess Bakalov, in a statement. "The SevOne technology enables companies to keep pace with this evolution by offering a scalable system for monitoring end-to-end performance.”

“Our newly-awarded patent confirms the unique nature of the Cluster Architecture, while our customers prove its effectiveness through tremendous market uptake around the globe," Bakalov added.

The SevOne Cluster Architecture relies on both physical and virtual appliances to fully distribute both data collection and reporting functions. Each new appliance in the Cluster can monitor and report back on any portion of the associated infrastructure.

As the company’s infrastructure grows, managers can continue to expand monitoring capabilities by adding on new appliances with no loss of speed in reporting. Reports are generated in seconds regardless of the size of the monitored domain.

SevOne serves several customers including some of world’s largest financial institutions, cable and telecom operators, managed service providers, and pharmaceutical companies.

The patent was awarded to SevOne on December 23, 2013 with regard to Patent Application No.: 12/260,757.
