Mushkin Adds New Ultra 480GB USB 3.0 Drive to its Ventura Ultra Series

Mushkin, a company that manufactures a line of Flash Memory-based products, has announced the new addition of 480GB Ventura Ultra USB 3.0 SSD to its USB SSD lineup, called the Ventura Ultra Series.

The new SSD will join the company’s existing range of 60GB, 120GB and 240GB models, which promises to deliver reliability and ultra-high performance. The new SSD is further enhanced to offer 480GB of storage and holds the capacity to operate in UASP mode, while empowering SSD performance in the USB flash drive form factor.

The new 480GB Ventura Ultra USB 3.0 SSD comes in nice-looking and light-weight aluminum housing and offers exceptional sturdiness and thermal management.

"When the Ventura Ultra first released, it was very well-received and continues to outperform the competition in the high-end portable storage space.  Everyone wants greater performance and capacity for large projects and media.  With the success of the original Ventura Ultra, we realized that we needed to innovate to offer even greater capacities while retaining high read and write speeds for data transfer," said Brian Flood, the Director of Product Development at Mushkin Inc.

Ventura Ultra series is backed by LSI SandForce SF-2281 specification and is expected to offer the preeminent throughput of 455MB/s read speed and 445MB/s write speed, which provides up to 39K 4K random IOPS.

The company officials confirmed that previously released Ventura Ultra with storage capacities of 60GB, 120GB, and 240GB, the USB 3.0 SSDs have been sold out at authorized Mushkin resellers.

Since its inception in 1994, Mushkin has been enthusiastic to help overclockers, gamers, IT managers, digital artists and mobile professionals enhance their computing experience by providing reliable, high-performance products.

The company’s products include a line of Flash Memory-based products and a complete selection of memory upgrades for desktops, notebooks and servers.
