Infoblox's Full-feature DDI Appliances Receive USGv6 Compliance Certification

Infoblox (News - Alert) Inc. announced that the company’s full-featured DDI physical as well as virtual appliances received USGv6 compliance certification bestowed by the National Institute of Standards and Technology. Following the development, Infoblox emerges as the first company in the network control business to secure this coveted certification. The newly certified products enable organizations to migrate to IPv6 standards seamlessly.

In a release, Cricket Liu, Chief Infrastructure Officer at Infoblox, said “Infoblox is responding to the global shortage of IPv4 addresses with the industry’s most advanced, interoperable solutions supporting IPv6. As IPv6 becomes ubiquitous, our customers can rest assured that Infoblox is ahead of the pack in offering network control appliances that comply with strict interoperability and security standards established by the United States government.”

Internet usage across the world is increasing at an exponential rate and as a result, the available stack of IPv4 addresses will soon be consumed. IPv addresses are the unique identifiers of internet connected devices and form the backbone of an internet network. IPv6 is the new emerging standard for combating the limited availability of IPv4 addresses, where 340 trillion will be available compared to the 4.3 billion IPv4 addresses. The new standard, however, is more complex compared to IPv4, bringing up new challenges for network administrators.

Speaking of the recognition received by Infoblox, Erica Johnson, Director at University of New Hampshire InterOperability Laboratory, said “IPv6 is a transformative technology that will impact the entire networking industry in the coming years. Effective testing of IPv6 products is crucial, and Infoblox is demonstrating its leadership by achieving this recognition.”

The US government is keen to deploy IPv6 standards and has rolled-out test programs to provide proof of compliance with IPv6 specifications. Infoblox partnered with University of New Hampshire’s InterOperability Laboratory for testing compliance of its products with the government specifications. The lab has been providing independent testing services and quality assurance for IPv6 functionality for more than 10 years.

Infoblox is engaged in the development and distribution of Automated Network Control solutions enabling its approximately 7000 clients to secure and scale their networking infrastructure.
