MACOM Debuts 5V RF Low Noise Amplifier

M/A-COM Technology Solutions (News - Alert) Inc., a company also known as MACOM, has  recently rolled out new 5V RF Low Noise Amplifier called, MAAM-011117,  which works in harmony with 50-2700 MHz cable, terrestrial and satellite applications.

The new MAAM-011117 comes in a 8-lead 2mm x 2mm plastic package and claims to offer  high gain, low noise and low distortion amplification for 75 ? customer premises equipment (CPE).

Labelled as a green device, the new MAAM-011117 operates over a 50-2700 MHz frequency bandwidth and includes a power-down function to decrease the overall current consumption to less than 4 mA for standby operation. In addition, this robust amplifier integrates a number of off-chip components, which makes it a highly integrated solution for space constrained front-ends.

“The MAAM-011117 has been designed specifically for customers requiring a highly linear, low noise, amplifier solution that covers DVT-T,-C and-S bands” said Graham Board, Product Manager, Networks. “The device boasts 16dB Gain across a matched 50 to 2700MHz band. This in conjunction with low power consumption, very low distortion and a power down mode make the MAAM-011117 the ideal solution for customer-premises equipment universal front-end.

The company officials confirmed that the production quantities and samples of MAAM-011117 are available from stock.

MACOM designs, manufactures, and supports a wide variety of amplifiers for RF, microwave, and millimeter wave applications. The company also supplies broadband amplifiers, driver amplifiers, gain blocks, low noise amplifiers, and power amplifiers.

Headquartered in Lowell, Massachusetts, MACOM is certified to the ISO9001 international quality standard and ISO14001 environmental management standard. The company uses a variety of semiconductor processes such as GaAs MESFET for linearity, pHEMT for power and low noise, and HBT for linearity and high gain. Additionally, its 50 to 1100 MHz cable band amplifiers exhibit best-in-class composite linearity performance.

MACOM has design centers and sales offices throughout North America, Europe, Asia and Australia.
