BackupAgent Debuts BackupAgent Cloud

BackupAgent, a cloud backup vendor, stated that its newly launched BackupAgent Cloud is the most feature-rich, fastest cloud backup service in the industry.

The BackupAgent Cloud is termed as a carrier-grade, extremely reliable and well tested platform that can cater to the requirements of both smaller, local service providers and large, nationwide providers who may demand high availability standards and redundancy. The platform’s features simplify the integration, management, maintenance and monitoring of the backup service.

Roland Sars, founder and chief commercial officer at BackupAgent, stated, “We are incredibly excited with the launch of BackupAgent Cloud. We have had a tremendous amount of requests for a BackupAgent Cloud solution and the response on our new solution is really positive. Our offering is very competitive to quickly gain market share and we see it is paying off. More than 100 resellers already signed up; from large Telcos to regional MSPs.”

The backup service makes use of a secure SSL (Secure Socket Layer) channel for communication and the backup data is encrypted using AES (Advanced Encryption Standard) 128 or 256 bit encryption technology.

Available to users as a SaaS (News - Alert) model, the new service is supposedly hosted over the central BackupAgent servers in the company’s own ISO, SOC certified and HIPAA compliant data centers and it does not demand any hardware or infrastructure investment from users. The host datacenter possesses multiple Standardization Certifications including BS7799 (Code of practice for information security management) and ISO9002 (Quality Management Systems).

The backup service supports a broad range of integrations with remote management tools, such as Kaseya (News - Alert), Autotask, LabTech, as well as control panels such as Parallels Automation, WHMCS, Citrix CloudPortal and HostBill. The BackupAgent client software is available for Windows, Mac OS and Linus distributions.
