Solacom Technologies announced that the company has partnered with GeoComm Inc. to create Guardian Map, a mapping solution integrated with Guardian platform. Guardian Map is programmed to identify the location of a 9-1-1 call as well allows call takers to answer and manage calls from Guardian Intelligent Workstation. The new product brings in an added level of speed and accuracy in handling 9-1-1 calls in the technologically advanced environment.
“Guardian Map adds a new level of accuracy and speed to call handling in a next generation 9-1-1 environment,” said Ray Vilis, vice president of business development at Solacom. “We look forward to enhancing Guardian Map even further with additional map-based call processing tools such as identifying the type of call to differentiate between text-based 9-1-1 calls and voice calls.”
The Guardian Map captures location data transmitted by the Automatic Location Identification feature associated with conventional 9-1-1 calls, or from the advanced i3 architecture defined by the National Emergency Number Association, to mark the location of the call on a map. Call takers will be able to manage calls basis the icons displayed, distinguishing between ringing, released or active calls, muted, on hold or abandoned calls. The calls can be controlled with a keyboard and a mouse or with a touchscreen monitor.
The Guardian Map application allows flexible support for custom Geographic Information Systems (GIS) base maps as well as locally-hosted maps from the data supplied by the client. The application also supports free Esri ArcGIS Online basemaps and Streetmap Premium maps.
