KBI Upgrades Kansas Criminal History Record Search Application

Kansas Bureau of Investigation (KBI) has announced the launch of the upgraded version of its Kansas Criminal History Record Search application enabling users to instantly search for criminal records from any internet enabled device including smartphone, tablets, laptops and desktops. The enhanced application was launched in association with Kansas.gov and also features a login process for KanAccess, the Kansas.gov initiative, wherein users can access all services from Kansas.gov with a single sign-on.

In a release, David Hutchings, Associate Director of Kansas Bureau of Investigation, said “The new login process, as well as the mobile enhancements, were created in response to feedback that we received directly from Kansans who conduct criminal record searches. We are looking for ways to add value to our applications and we feel the Kansas Criminal History Record Search has been improved to the benefit of our users.”

The legislation of Kansas City allows for public access of criminal history records to the citizens and other special groups through special permissions and rights. The access to the criminal history record is a fee-based service where the fee and the extent of the accessible information is governed by the rules and regulations outlined by the Kansas statutes.

In the upgraded version, users wanting to search the background records of a person for criminal history are required to have access credentials for logging into KanAccess. The users can search for a person’s background history with the first name, last name and date of birth. The payment for the service can be made online through secured transactions using Visa, MasterCard (News - Alert), American Express or any other payment gateway.

Kansas Bureau of Investigation is an organization working towards ensuring public safety and elimination of criminal activities from the Kansas state. The Bureau offers investigative services, laboratory services, criminal justice related information and associated professional services to the criminal justice agencies in Kansas.

Kansas.gov is the official website for the Kansas State, developed and managed by Information Network of Kansas Inc. The portal is operated through a public-private partnership between Information Network of Kansas Inc. and Kansas Information Consortium LLC to provide web-enabled services from the Kansas government.
