Telstra (News - Alert) Global and CenturyLink announced the signing of a network-to-network interconnection (NNI) deal in a move to strengthen Telstra Global’s presence in the U.S. market. Following the development, Telstra Global will gain access to CenturyLink’s IP virtual private network (VPN) points-of-presence (PoPs) in the U.S.
In a statement, Tom Homer, head of EMEA and the Americas at Telstra Global, said, “Telstra Global customers now have even greater accessibility and choice of telecommunication solutions across the U.S., providing business-ready networks that help grow their businesses. This ongoing partnering relationship with CenturyLink, the third largest telecommunications company in the United States, combined with our existing network capabilities, means our customers can continue to expect cost-effective, high-quality and reliable service, regardless of location.”
Access to 73 PoPs of CenturyLink will enable Telstra Global to widen its service network in the U.S. with enhanced connectivity and reduced redundancy for its business offerings in the region. The agreement will add to Telstra Global’s 1,400 PoPs that span nearly 230 countries in the world serviced through 18 full-fledged data centers offering extensive range of network connectivity options for global business customers.
Speaking of the development, Eric Bozich, vice president of product and marketing of CenturyLink, said, “CenturyLink's IP VPN network has best-in-class performance and coverage across the U.S. Partnering with Telstra will combine the reach and capabilities of two global leaders in delivering solutions to multi-national business customers.”
